Last day

Ah well, did a last minute shopping spree today bought quite a bit, lots of anime dvd sets and trinkets. Back to bonne scotland tommorrow - missing my drinking sessions :P

Tokyo Tour

Took a full day tour of tokyo - amazing city! its fulled with advanced techonolgy and history. loads of greenery for a city too.

Visited the Toyko tower in the morning, the view is breathtaking - the city spans all the way to the horizion in all direction, you can see the tallest skyscrapers towering the area.

Also visted Meiji Shrine, place was huge, peaceful and was filled with acient architecture, really beautiful.

Asakusa kannon temple and nakamise shopping street was outstanding, was so busy, took some great shots of the temple and its towers. Really enjoyed the shopping area - all thoses funky trinkets and snacks to eat.

Also visited Ginza, Sumida river, ueno and some other places, i could go on for ages but i need sleep now :)

JAPAN - TOKYO!

I'm here! Staying in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, the night view from my room is amazing, overlooking a park and all the skyscrapers behind it all the way back to the horizon.

The plane flight took 4 hours and the trip from Narita airport to Tokyo took 2 hours! sooo long.

Anyways took a walk around Shinjuku East for the night and booked a tour for tommorrow - can't wait :)

China - Shenzhen

Today was my trip to one of the closest city to hong kong in china - Shenzhen.

Crossed the border on foot - more troop patrols than the village where i stay. Still pretty shakey everytime I have to get an id check, all those assult rifles and shotguns the troops carry.

Trip to shenzhen was pretty much a shopping trip, city is quite old and not techonology advanced. Not really much to say since all i did was window shop.

And tommorrow is my trip to Japan, yipee! can't wait.

Kowloon and food

The heart of hong kong, done nothing but shopping for the last two days. bought loads of dvds and some clothes. Kowloon festival walk is huge, 7+ levels of shops, restaurants and entertainment - ice rink on the 4th level.

Also went to Mong Kok - streets and streets of shops and markets, as usual i got lost, heh. but thats normal for me - useless with directions.

So far in hong kong, i've eaten korean, veitnamese, french, italian foods and chinese too :P . I seem to have relatives that don't actually eat chinese food, hehe. veitnamese food is tasty - pineapple fried rice.

arcade games

Met up with an old friend and went to the arcades in Sha Tin on Saturday. Great fun! some really funky games there;

First up was some motion sword game, were you could swing a plastic sword to interact, pretty cool except we sucked at it.

Second was "do the washing", lol - wipe plates clean to earn points.

Well everyone seems to be making blogs nowadays. So heres my two cents. Actually i decided to make a blog to record me journey to the far east. It's now a week since i left bonne scotland for hong kong - no internet access where i'm staying.

It's been fours years since the last time I was here - nothing seems to have changed, weather is hot, streets are busy. So far i've been to the golf range, played basketball, shopping, eating, sleeping, etc. Met some old friends too!
